TNDC Saddened by the Passing of an Employee

We regret to share news of the passing of TNDC employee Randy Lavand, who sadly passed from a non-work related incident at our Newcrest Red Chris Mine jobsite over the weekend.

Randy joined TNDC in August as an experienced heavy equipment operator and quickly became part of the family.  He provided mentorship and support to our crew daily.  Randy was well liked and respected by everyone he worked with and his presence onsite will be deeply missed.

TNDC appreciates the leadership, guidance and support that Newcrest Red Chris management have been providing onsite during this very difficult and unprecedented time.  We will continue to work with them to support our team in dealing with this loss.

On behalf of TNDC Management, our employees at site and the Tahltan Nation, our thoughts and prayers are with Randy’s family.

Respectfully,
Clint Keso | CEO

  • TNDC is a great place to work. The atmosphere in the office is friendly, open, and honest, and there is always humour and laughter. I like that TNDC maintains an active approach of hiring locally and offers training within that position. Employees are highly encouraged and supported to advance professionally, which ripples into advancing personally as well.

  • Sodexo Canada has been a partner with TNDC since 2002, providing complete camp management through Spatsizi Remote Services. During this time we have worked on many projects, and employed many Tahltan members. It’s been very positive, and the business relationships have formed long lasting personal and business friendships.
