Heavy Duty Mechanics

TNDC mechanical teams are responsible for the preventative maintenance and major repairs to mobile (heavy and light duty), auxiliary and stationary mining equipment, while continuously aligning daily functions. Successful applicants will be required to work in a remote camp setting during their entire shift. Work schedules may vary, depending on the position and jobsite, working 10-12 hours per day.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the site supervisor or designate, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • inspecting equipment, troubleshooting and planning sequence of repair operations
  • investigating deficiencies and equipment malfunctions
  • following maintenance procedures to ensure all equipment meets specifications
  • cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • servicing attachments and working tools as required

Qualifications and experience

The successful applicant will have a lead role in ensuring the financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections, overseeing accounting and finance services, and preparing growth plans.

Responsibilities include budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, leasing, debt management, cash management, updating corporate filings, ensuring full compliance of accounting and finance regulatory requirements, implementation, and management of best practices. Creation and implementation of formal financial procedures and processes. Creation of an internal audit program. Succession planning and training of TNDC employees is an important function of this position.

The Finance Director will drive operational and administrative improvements and ensure efficient and timely management of important accounting functions such as invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. A background in civil construction, mining, infrastructure, earthworks, and telecommunications will be well regarded.

Willingness to relocate to Dease Lake, BC is preferred; however, for the right candidate, the position can be based in another location, provided that scheduled trips to TNDC office in Dease Lake and other site locations are scheduled to suit operational requirements.

Qualifications and experience

Shuttle Driver

Airport Services Manager – Dease Lake Airport

TNDC Airport Services is the Contract Airport Operator of the Dease Lake Airport (CYDL) and provides oversight, maintenance, and direction of CYDL on behalf of the Stikine Airport Society (SAS). TNDC Airport Services also supplies ground services and support for aircraft such as de-icing, baggage handling and re-fueling. We are seeking a leader who will ensure the smooth operation of the airport and delivery of services in addition to maintaining positive customer relationships. A high level of organizational, administrative and communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Services Manager or designate, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • oversight and direction of TNDC personnel carrying out Airport Services at the Dease Lake and Bob Quinn Airports
  • liaison between TNDC, clients, various regulators, and respective airport societies
  • ensure efficient delivery of services and contract compliance
  • management of airport equipment and building maintenance
  • develop and grow Airport Services by encouraging and providing logistical support to all aviation companies
  • management of training programs and records
  • management of commercial terms for billing, reconciliation of costs, equipment hourly times, bill-backs, retail sales, rentals, etc.

TNDC Airport Services is looking for an energetic, proactive person with excellent customer service skills to join the team in the position of Customer Service Agent. If you enjoy working independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced environment where every day is different than the one before, this may be an opportunity you have been looking for. The successful candidates will be committed to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the site supervisor or designate, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • check in and greet passengers for flights and on behalf of air carriers and clients
  • respond to passenger inquiries
  • prepare, load, and unload baggage from the aircraft if required
  • acceptance of freight for expediting; ship and receive cargo
  • scheduled janitorial duties for TNDC airport premises
  • handle payments and/or billings for fuel, rentals, and services
  • communicate load counts to flight crews
  • assist with general office, administrative and clerical functions to keep the airport running smoothly
  • ensure proper reporting, documentation, and clear lines of communication with supervisors
  • attend toolbox, safety and other meetings or discussions as required
  • adhere to relevant company procedures and policies
  • participate in any other specified training
  • other duties as required

Qualifications and experience

  • superior customer service skills
  • excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
  • strong computer skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • ability to work flexible hours, including split shifts and weekend coverage
  • strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills
  • proven commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards
  • able to take direction, follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities and multi-tasking
  • strong work ethic with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • a team player that works respectfully and cooperatively with others

Conditions of Employment

  • pass mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and fitness for work assessment where required
  • valid Class 5 driver’s license required
  • valid Occupational First Aid Certification (OFA) and WHMIS Certification preferred
  • the ability to repetitively lift/move up to 70 lbs and maintain high levels of performance throughout shift
