Status: Temporary; Part-time

This position is responsible for performing custodial duties in order to ensure that the TNDC administration building and warehouse is maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. The successful applicant must have personal and professional integrity, must be honest, trustworthy and respectful while being able to demonstrate sound work ethics.


  • Clean administration building and warehouse to ensure it is maintained in a safe and healthy manner
  • Complete cleaning duty checklists as requested
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff and the public
  • Perform other related duties as required


  • Preference will be given to applicants with a High School Diploma or GED
  • Related custodian / janitorial experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
  • Ability to use tools and equipment and to perform the physical aspect of the job
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices including WHMIS
  • Ability to work without supervision and follow standard procedures, and compliance with all health and safety standards
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism

Conditions of Employment

  • Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Willingness to sign an Oath of Confidentiality; completion of a criminal record check as requested
  • Custodial procedures are to be followed
  • Physically fit; able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and maintain high levels of performance throughout shift
  • Possess or willing to obtain related certifications including Occupational First Aid

Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians / Mechanic

Location: Dease Lake or Red Chris Mine



  • inspecting equipment, troubleshooting and planning sequence of repair operations
  • investigating deficiencies and equipment malfunctions
  • adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • following maintenance procedures to ensure all equipment meets specifications
  • cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • servicing attachments and working tools as required
  • ensuring proper reporting, documentation and clear lines of communication with immediate supervisor
  • attending toolbox and safety meetings and other meetings/discussions as required
  • participating in any other specified training
  • other duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Interprovincial Journeyman Red Seal Certification in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required or a strong 2nd year apprentice
  • minimum of 3 years related experience preferred
  • Welding Certification is an asset; not mandatory
  • demonstrable knowledge in Caterpillar and Volvo are considered strong assets
  • extensive knowledge of and including Caterpillar (up to D8T), excavator (up to a 349) and rock trucks (up to 745) sizes
  • knowledge, understand and practice safe work practices
  • must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • a team player that works well with others

Conditions of Employment

  • a minimum of a valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher
  • ability to pass mandatory drug and alcohol testing
  • WHMIS Certification necessary and training may be provided by TNDC
  • ability to lift / move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift and maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts
