TNDC Again Rated One of the Biggest Indigenous Businesses in BC

Dease Lake, B.C., November 10, 2022 – Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) has been rated by Business in Vancouver (BIV) again as one of the biggest Indigenous Businesses in British Columbia. In 2021, TNDC was rated #1 in BIV’s annual list and on November 7, 2022 BIV released its annual list for 2022 where TNDC was rated #3 as the biggest Indigenous Business in B.C., ranked by total number of employees.

TNDC Commemorates Tahltan Day

October 18th is Tahltan Day, the 112th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of the Tahltan Tribe. Today is an important day for the Tahltan Nation, a day to celebrate Tahltan culture, tradition, language, resiliency and independence. As the business arm of the Tahltan Nation with a large percentage of Tahltan employees, Tahltan Day holds special significance for TNDC. TNDC recognizes Tahltan Day as a statutory holiday and it is also recognized as a statutory holiday on many of the worksites of Tahltan industry partners as part of their Impact Benefit Agreements.

TNDC Honours Lost Indigenous Children and Survivors of Residential Schools

The TNDC team is donning orange shirts on September 30th to commemorate National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day that recognizes the harm inflicted on Canada’s Indigenous Peoples from the historical residential school system. To express our support, TNDC team members across project sites are wearing symbolic orange shirts in remembrance of the lost children and survivors. The shirts feature Turtle Island – an orange shirt design to honour lost children and survivors by Tahltan artist Huey Carlick with the message Every Child Matters.

Connecting with our Shareholders at TNDC’s 2022 AGM

TNDC was pleased to connect with our shareholders – Tahltan membership – at our 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held July 4, 2022 in Dease Lake. TNDC shared updates on its business activities and finances for the 2021-2022 fiscal year; in addition, TNDC laid out its vision and focus for 2022 and 2023. The event included a question and answer session that enabled Tahltan membership to ask questions and provide feedback to TNDC’s Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team.

TNDC Announces New Vice President of Construction

TNDC is pleased to welcome Bruce Gordichuk as Vice President of Construction, a newly created role that will be instrumental in managing TNDC’s construction field teams to deliver on client commitments. Overseeing TNDC’s Heavy Construction division, Bruce is responsible for ensuring operational health, safety and environment compliance, operational excellence and project delivery, and construction team training and development. In this leadership role, Bruce will oversee project execution and division operations, provide technical guidance to project teams, and deliver project briefings to client.
