BRINGING CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES TO OUR REMOTE COMMUNITIES

It was cold outside, but festive fun warmed the inside of the 23rd Annual TNDC Community Christmas Party, held December 9th in Dease Lake.

Embracing the theme It’s a Wonderful Life from the classic Christmas movie and featuring a special visit from Santa, the community holiday party was another hit. Festivities included fun, food, games, prizes and gifts for the children, youth and adults who attended, as well as Ugly Christmas Sweater and Gingerbread Decorating (tower-themed) contests.

This festive event brings excitement and happiness to children, youth and their families living in our remote Dease Lake, Good Hope Lake, Iskut, Telegraph Creek and surrounding communities.

Entry was a non-perishable donation for the Stikine Food Bank, which supports families in the need in the region.

A special thanks to the Tahltan Band/Peoples Haven, who contributed the food and beverages, the 2024 Dease Lake School Grads, Mackenzie Dennis (our elf), Ed Kovach, Kathleen Olsen, Tamara Watkins and the TNDC team for their labour support, and our many Business Partners who donated gifts, dollars and shipping services.

TNDC takes pride in hosting this special community event each year. But its success relies on the Christmas spirit of individuals, organizations and business partners who volunteer time, provide in-kind and financial support and donate gifts. We were once again overwhelmed by their response and generosity.
