Standing Together Against Bullying On Pink Shirt Day

Today —  February 25th — is Pink Shirt Day, a national day to wear pink to take a stand against bullying. Sadly, bullying continues to be a problem in many schools, workplaces, homes and online.

TNDC is committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive work environment for our employees and everyone we work with.

As part of this commitment, TNDC is rallying behind the message of Pink Shirt Day by fostering conversation and sharing information about bullying and harassment with our team.

THE STORY OF PINK SHIRT DAY

Now an international movement, Pink Shirt Day has humble beginnings. In 2007, Berwick, Nova Scotia classmates David Shepherd and Travis Price purchased and distributed 50 pink shirts after a student at their school was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. With that act of kindness, Pink Shirt Day was born. It is now celebrated across Canada on the last Wednesday in February.  To learn more, visit: https://pinkshirtdaycanada.ca/

FOSTER KINDNESS AND INCLUSION

Being an advocate for kindness and inclusivity starts with each of us. We must all foster acceptance, kindness, inclusion and respect for everyone. Let’s take a collective stand against bullying and in making our work environments and communications respectful and inclusive of all people.
