Nēne Khāye Winterfest, TNDC’s annual holiday celebration, brought families and the community together in a festive and joyful setting on December 6 in Dease Lake. It was a magical day filled with laughter, good food and high spirits.
Families filled the arena and outdoor areas all afternoon. Kids moved from the sliding hill to the craft tables. Skates echoed on the rink, the toboggan run stayed busy, and the hockey game brought great energy. Games entertained all ages. Santa made everyone smile and the Grinch kept us laughing. A video tribute of The Raven Creation Story, as told by the late Rosie Dennis, added a moment of reflection and connection that grounded the day beautifully.
We are grateful to the volunteers who supported activities throughout the day. Thank you to the Dease Lake Arena, the high school students, community members, representatives from Newmont’s Red Chris Mine and Skeena Gold + Silver, and TNDC business partners Kode Contracting and Geotech Drilling.
